A milestone for our commitment to the defence sector and its people.

Cheshire West Recycling (CWR) is delighted to announce that it has been awarded the Silver status in the Armed Forces Covenant 'Employer Recognition Scheme' (ERS). The ERS is a UK government initiative that recognises and rewards employers who support the defence community and uphold the values of the Armed Forces Covenant. The Covenant is a pledge that the nation will honour and respect those who serve and have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, and ensure they are treated fairly and not disadvantaged in their day-to-day lives.

The Silver award is a significant achievement that reflects CWR's dedication to supporting both the Defence and the wider Armed Forces community, underscoring its ongoing efforts to foster an inclusive and supportive environment for defence personnel. CWR values the skills, experience, and dedication of the defence community, and recognises the challenges and sacrifices that they and their families face. CWR offers flexible working arrangements for reservists, career development opportunities, and practical and emotional support to its employees who are part of the defence community, and advocates for their rights and interests.

By achieving the Silver award, CWR has also enhanced its reputation and attractiveness as an employer of choice in the defence sector, and has strengthened its relationships and partnerships with the Ministry of Defence, the regional Employer Engagement Directors, and other ERS award holders. CWR is proud to be part of a network of like-minded employers who share its vision and ethos, and who are committed to upholding the principles and values of the Armed Forces Covenant.

CWR is determined to maintain and improve its standards and practices as a Silver award holder, and is aspiring to achieve the Gold award in the future, which is the highest level of recognition in the ERS and a mark of excellence and leadership in the defence sector.

CWR would like to thank the Ministry of Defence and the regional Employer Engagement Directors for their guidance and support throughout the application process, and would like to congratulate its fellow Silver award holders for their outstanding achievements. CWR looks forward to working with them and the rest of the ERS network to uphold the Armed Forces Covenant and to support the defence community.
