Cheshire West Recycling manages the Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) across Cheshire West and Chester, providing a safe, reliable and efficient service for residents across the borough.
Delivering the service on behalf of Cheshire West and Chester Council, we are responsible for the day-to-day operation of all seven HWRC sites, located in Chester, Ellesmere Port, Frodsham, Neston, Northwich, Tattenhall and Winsford. These sites form a key part of the borough’s waste and recycling infrastructure, giving residents a convenient way to dispose of household waste and recycle materials that cannot be collected through our weekly kerbside services.
Each year, the HWRC network welcomes around 740,000 visits and processes approximately 40,000 tonnes of household waste and recycling.
Through our fully integrated service, in place since April 2026 and alongside our kerbside collection service, we deliver improved efficiency, greater consistency and better recycling and reuse outcomes across the borough.”
Our approach focuses on:
- Increasing reuse opportunities
- Improving recycling performance
- Reducing the amount of waste sent for disposal
- Supporting local environmental ambitions
Working closely with the Council, residents and local partners, we continually improve how materials are reused and recycled across Cheshire West and Chester. Together with our shareholder and workforce, we deliver safe, responsible and trusted services that support long-term environmental goals.
