In Cheshire West and Chester, most standard households receive a 'twin bin' household recycling system. The fleet of recycling collection vehicles are specially designed with two separate compartments, your blue lidded bin is emptied into one side and red lidded bin the other.
The collected material is transported back to our Ellesmere Port materials processing facility (MRF) to be bulked and in the case of the red bin materials further separated. Every year, we process tonnes of recycling at our Ellesmere Port facility, preparing these materials to be transformed into exciting new products.
Additionally, we operate two waste transfer stations that provide safe, compliant processing facilities for the Council’s Streetcare service.
