Cheshire West Recycling Limited is a council owned company, operating in accordance with co-operative principles with a social and environmental purpose.
The company was established in October 2019 and became operationally active on the 30th March 2020 providing refuse, recycling and garden waste collection activities on behalf of Cheshire West and Chester Council.
We employ over 300 local people, operating over 100 frontline collection vehicles, and provide a service to every resident across the borough at least once per week
We create clean and safe neighbourhoods by collecting recyclable materials and ensuring it is processed to produce new and sustainable products. Waste collected which can’t be reused, is recognised as a valuable resource and used as a fuel to produce power and heat.
Less than 1.5% of all waste collected has to be landfilled. In an effort to reduce the impact of carbon on the local environment we are continually looking at ways to recycle and recover more which ultimately means we have less waste to treat in other ways. Our teams also help to make recycling easier through the ongoing interaction we have with residents and other stakeholders alike to ensure the maximum level of recovery is realised.
To work with the communities we serve, leading positive environmental change to create clean and safe places to live and work for future generations.
People are at the heart of everything we do and everybody has a part to play. Our cooperative principles embrace a collaborative approach to minimising the impact of waste on our community and work tirelessly to achieve zero waste
