A service built around the needs of the borough
Established in 2022, CWR’s Fleet Services division provides safe, efficient vehicle maintenance for our own operational fleet and a wide range of Cheshire West and Chester Council vehicles, helping to deliver a reliable service and value for money.
From small vans and accessible buses to gritters, snowploughs, tractors, trailers and mechanical sweepers, our teams maintain vehicles that support essential services across the borough. We currently maintain 147 Council vehicles, alongside CWR’s own operational fleet, helping to maximise vehicle availability and keep services running safely and reliably.
Our Fleet Services team operates from two purpose-built workshops at our Road Three Operations Hub in Winsford and Canalside Operations Hub in Ellesmere Port. Having workshops at both ends of the borough enables us to respond efficiently to maintenance requirements and breakdowns, reducing travel distances, response times and associated emissions.
Safety, compliance and quality are central to our approach. Through proactive maintenance, our teams work to identify issues early, minimise downtime and ensure vehicles are maintained to a consistently high standard, helping to keep essential services running safely and efficiently across the borough.
Our capabilities continue to develop alongside the changing needs of the Council’s fleet. The recent addition of a dedicated electric vehicle maintenance workshop at Canalside enables our teams to maintain electric vehicles locally and supports the Council’s transition towards a cleaner, more sustainable fleet.
In April 2026, CWR began a new long-term Fleet Maintenance contract with Cheshire West and Chester Council, securing the service for an initial eight years, with the option to extend for a further four. The agreement provides long-term stability to continue investing in our people, facilities and technology, while strengthening the close working relationship between CWR and the Council.
