Cheshire West Recycling (CWR) is proud to confirm the successful outcome of its latest ISO surveillance and recertification audit.
Following a comprehensive review by ISOQAR, the organisation has retained its certification for ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety). The audit concluded with no nonconformities, no corrective actions and no recommendations for improvement – a clear endorsement of CWR’s commitment to quality, safety and environmental excellence.
The audit recognised several areas of good practice and organisational strength. These included high standards in site welfare, maintenance and safety, supported by well-established processes for employee engagement such as regular HSEQ meetings and toolbox talks. CWR’s ongoing commitment to social value was also commended, with inclusive frontline roles, local apprenticeship opportunities and flexible working arrangements noted as positive contributions to the community and workforce wellbeing.
Auditors highlighted the organisation’s clear strategic direction and operational leadership, citing recent contract awards and extensions as evidence of strong performance and future focus. The use of innovation and technology – including AI tools in waste sorting and the introduction of lower-emission fleet upgrades – was seen as a reflection of CWR’s commitment to continuous improvement and sustainable service delivery.
The company’s approach to data, compliance and digital systems was also praised. The effective use of platforms supporting real-time reporting, risk management and audit tracking contributes to a well-governed and responsive operational environment.
Operations Director Jody Sherratt has said of the outcome: “This result provides clear external validation of the standards we work to every day. It’s a reflection of the systems we’ve built – and most importantly, the people behind them. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who played a part.”
The successful outcome of the audit and the continued ISO Accreditations highlights not only the strength of CWR’s management systems, but also the shared values and consistent effort shown across the organisation. As the company continues to evolve, this result reinforces its focus on safe, high-quality and environmentally responsible service delivery, which is made possible by the collective dedication of the CWR workforce.
